San Marcos on Feb 19

I think it is roughly 180 miles between San Marcos and Houston, but it really seems longer than that. I think because the last 25 miles between Luling and San Marcos are on HWY 183 and 80, which take you through a bunch of small towns where the spped limit is 35 MPH.

We always like playing at Triplecrown. The light show is nice. I got to play on Spank's drumset, which makes things easier. SPANK is definitely one of our favorite bands, and they are extremely nice guys to boot. We played about an hour set. We hadn't played "Underwatertown"--on of our slower songs--in a while, so we busted it out and it sounded good. However, right before we counted it off, someone in the audience yelled "Play something funky". Underwater town, while interesting, is not the funkiest of numbers. Such is Life. "The Sixer" sounded good--second time played, and it sounded much tighter than 2 weeks ago in Bryan/College Station.

SPANK rocked.

We amused ourselves playing the ring on a thread attached to the ceiling and trying to latch on to hook 10 feet away on the wall game. Great game. Jody and Josh got pretty good. There is one guy there that is clearly a master of the ring and hook game. We could all learn a lot from him.
